Bringing Abbas back from the dead does not change the reality. The Palestinian Authority lacks the ability to govern or influence, and apparently any real support from the Palestinians, as well. In any case, it cannot and apparently has no desire to serve as a real partner for Israel in finding a solution that would end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Sudans Premier tritt nach Massenprotesten zurück

Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has announced his resignation just weeks after he was reinstated in a controversial deal with the military. 

The army seized power in October and put Mr Hamdok under house arrest, but he was reinstated following a power-sharing deal with the coup’s leader.

Protesters rejected the deal, demanding an entirely civilian political rule.

His resignation followed another day of protests, where medics said at least two were killed.

USA beenden ihren Kampfeinsatz im Irak

 Iraq announced the end of the US combat mission in the country on Thursday, a top Iraqi military official said as the global coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS) group formally shifts its role to focusing on military advising, training, and intelligence gathering.

“We officially announce the end of the combat missions of the coalition forces and their withdrawal from Iraq,” Iraq's National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji said in a tweet.
